Week 2 (1/14/2008 - 1/19/2008):

Accomplishments:

  • Setup SVN server and created code placeholders (Jared)
  • Finalized game concept (Seth, Justin/Jared)
  • started project plan (Justin, Seth/Jared)

  • Finish project plan (Everyone)

  • get dev. libraries working (Jared)

Week 3 (1/19/2008 - 1/26/2008):

Accomplishments:

  • Project Plan 75% complete
    • Jared: Project Overview, Process Model, Boundaries and Interfaces, Reviews, Management Priorities
    • Justin: Project Definitions, References, Teams Skills and Experience
    • Seth: Organizational Structure and Responsibilities, Requirements
  • Drafted initial workload distribution (Jared, Justin and Seth accepted responsibilities by vote and weighted averages of our skills)
  • Researched Development Libraries (Jared: Mouse pointers and BlueTooth Wii Remotes, Seth: OpenAL, Justin: OpenGL)

Week 8 (2/23/2008 - 3/1/2008):

Accomplishments:

  • Setup and tested SVN clients
  • created class outlines for all objects
  • tested alternate audio library and decided to change to the new library (FMOD)

  • Continue SR1 preparation:
    • player, puzzle element, and puzzle field: Jared
    • AudioSample, MusicTrack, MusicBar: Seth
    • modeling, textures, DrawableObject, GraphicsMain: Justin

Week 9 (3/1/2008 - 3/8/2008):

Accomplishments:

  • Finished AudioSample class using FMOD (all baseline audio code is done) (Seth & Jared)
  • VS Project now compiles wth no errors or warnings (Jared)
  • Graphics engine can now create and manage a window properly (Justin)

Goals & Priorities (ordered by importance):

  • Continue SR1 preparation (Code and test by VVP for VVR1):
    • player, puzzle element, and puzzle field: Jared
    • MusicTrack, MusicBar: Seth
    • DrawableObject, GraphicsMain: Justin

Week 10 (3/8/2008 - 3/15/2008):

Accomplishments:

  • SR1 finished!
    • Graphics engine now fully working, DrawableObject, GraphicsMain (Justin)
    • MusicTrack reads and plays a song file in full 5.1 (Seth)
    • Multi-mouse interface now working 100% (Jared)
    • Base framework has been integrated into a test app and is working (Jared, Justin)
    • Created some test track files (Seth, Justin, Jared)
  • Test results compiled into VVR (Jared)

  • Now that the base framework is complete, it's time to build a game!

  • MusicBar (100% working, notes pulse, spin in time): Seth
  • models (speaker box, drumset): justin
  • model loading code rewrite: justin
  • material loader: jared
  • wiimote enumeration and mapping: jared
  • full scene blur (render to texture method): jared

  • Tighten up the graphics more, also models & songs: Justin
  • Testing/documentation for SR2/VVR2 (justin, seth, jared)

For demo day, we will need a large space with a projector screen.


Week 13 (3/31/2008 - 4/5/2008):

Accomplishments:

  • Player, PuzzleElement, PuzzleField (jared)
  • MusicBar works (seth)
  • Graphics are getting tighter (Justin)
  • VVR2 testing
  • VVR2 doc (Justin)

Goals & Priorities (ordered by importance):

  • blur, tighter graphics , also models & songs: Justin
  • front end menu: Seth
  • clean up wiimote motion (and optimize) : Jared
  • Finish game-play object integration (Seth, Justin)
  • Tests for VVR3 (Seth, Justin, Jared)
  • VVR3 writeup (Seth)
  • SR3 compilation and installer packaging (Jared)

Needs:

For demo day, we will need a large space with a projector screen (a projector would be nice, but not we can provide our own).


Week 14 (4/6/2008 - 4/12/2008):

Accomplishments:

  • Blur works! But not exactly motion blur... using a custom procedural texture map to achieve a very cool convolution effect. (Jared)
  • new mouse cursor model (Justin)
  • front-end ui works (Seth)
  • game scoring works (Justin/Seth)
  • SR3 binary/source release packaged (Jared)

Goals & Priorities (ordered by importance):

  • clean up wiimote motion (and optimize) : Jared
  • content: songs and samples... 2 songs from each group member
  • gameplay testing: Seth, Justin
  • recording samples: Jared
  • Final report write up (Seth, Justin, Jared)
  • Final beta testing (seth, justin, jared)
  • package binary release in MSI installer (Jared)

Needs:

Front table/area in WEB 130 for demo day. Projector for demo (not required but would be nice).


Week 15 (4/13/2008 - 4/19/2008):

Accomplishments:

  • Wiimote motion is now smooth and accurate... also compensates for roll and being upside down (Jared)
  • Final release posted(Jared)
    • MSI package delayed due to issue with directory permissions in Windows Vista
  • UI tweaks (seth)
  • in game voice sounds (seth)
  • splash-screen graphics (justin)
  • Gameplay testing (justin)
  • Final report nearly complete (Justin, Seth)

Goals & Priorities (ordered by importance):

  • finish final report (seth, justin)
  • Prep for demo
  • content for demo day: songs and samples... 1 song from each group member
  • Fix issue with MSI installer (Jared)

Needs:
